Growing Leaders

The key to growing leadership capacity in an organization is to identify successful strategies for developing a culture that incorporates the gifts that individuals bring to an organization and recognizes how to exercise those gifts. Dr. Janel Curry has played an essential role in several initiatives to grow leaders, particularly women leaders:

• Developed an eight-year faculty development plan whose workshop components have been held at Gordon College, Calvin College, Western Kentucky University, Ballermine University, Indiana Weslyan University, and Bethel University (2000—present)

• Presented nationally on leadership development

• Published essays related to leadership in internationally-recognized higher education journals

• Carried out national research which resulted in the promotion of best practices.
